Great Falls
Outdoorsy Engagement Session Location in Maryland
To kick us off, Great Falls combines adventure and natural beauty. It’s no surprise it’s one of our best local National Parks. With its rocky terrain, Great Falls offers a great backdrop for an engagement session. In fact, it feels like a hidden pocket of the Pacific Northwest. While there are many great trails that wind through the park, I’ll lead us to my favorite location. It’s quiet, hidden, and gorgeous. Be careful when you type Great Falls into your GPS, there is a Virginia location & a Maryland location. They are quite far apart so make sure you & your photographer are on the same page!
Rawlings Conservatory
Indoor Nature-Inspired Engagement Session Location in Maryland
Unlike Great Falls’ rugged terrain, Rawlings Conservatory is a great indoor option for a nature-inspired engagement session. Rawlings Conservatory, nestled within Baltimore, creates a serene oasis of blooms & foliage. With its historic structure and its five distinct greenhouse rooms, Rawlings Conservatory provides an awesome backdrop. Regardless of the season, the greenhouse’s lighting is always gorgeous. As a heads up, Rawlings does require a photo permit for engagement sessions so make sure to plan ahead.
Kinder Farm Park
Nature Field Maryland Engagement Session
Looking for a wide open grass field in Maryland? Kinder Farm Park might be just what you’re looking for! While there are 288 acres of sprawling nature here, my favorite spot is easy to access. It also has a great opportunity for a sunset glow. Summer & fall tend to be the best seasons here once the grass is nice & tall for photos.
Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center
Nature-Inspired Engagement Session in Maryland
While you search for an engagement location, consider Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center on the Eastern Shore. Not only does this location have woods, it also has boarded walkways in fields of grasses and a beach with a beautiful view of the Bay. Even more, the non-profit is all about natural habitat restoration and we’re here for that.
KOA Campgrounds
Chill Camping Engagement Location
Washington DC’s KOA campsite in Millersville, Maryland is a great spot for a camp engagement session. It features several campsites in the woods where you can set up a cozy moment. Once you have a crackling campfire, snuggle up together under a blanket of stars. Of course you can bring your RV, Airstream, tent, or just some marshmallows for an evening. You can also easily make a whole weekend getaway out of it for yourselves after your session. And of course, if you find a campsite closer to your location we can create this scene anywhere!
Terrapin Beach Nature Park
Beach Maryland Engagement Location
For those who love a sandy beach moment, Terrapin Beach Nature Park is a great option for an engagement session location. An easy walk to the beach, the trails here are well-kept and perfectly woodsy. We can rock the woods, the tall beachy grasses, and of course the smooth waves coming in on the Chesapeake Bay. As long as the sky is clear, the sunset here creates a gorgeous golden hour with the Bay Bridge in the background.
As you can tell, Maryland offers great engagement session locations for adventurous couples. From awe-inspiring views to a green oasis, there’s a perfect spot for every couple. So don’t settle for the ordinary, embark on an adventure to create engagement photos that reflect your relationship. After all, as Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
