While on our recent photo trip to Hawaii, I realized that I never blogged this baller Big Island elopement photoshoot! It may be photographed with our old gear, but boy is this a goodie. When we first began our adventure, Erica, Tyler, Hunter, & I explored a coastal jungle filled with fig trees. The girthy flat buttress roots of the trees are dang beautiful. And it basically feels like you’re right out of a scene from Jurassic Park. After exploring the black sand beach nearby, we headed up to the northern side of the island to find ourselves a safe waterfall. We followed a narrow dirt path and could feel the breeze off the cool water as we approached. Erica & Tyler exchanged personal vows to one another in the pool of the waterfall before we splashed around. It’s one pretty incredible scene for a vow exchange, if you ask me. To put a seal on an amazing experience, we journeyed out to the molten volcanic lava flow. After a several mile trek through the cooled jet black lava fields, we used headlamps from volunteer strangers (LOL) to create light in the pitch black nightfall. I love when weird things happen.
This is one bomb photo collection of unique locations to celebrate a destination wedding!
