As we hiked up the blue ridge mountains with wedding supplies on our backs, we reminisced on their story together. How RaeAnne & Kwame found one another years ago, and how they ended up walking this trail on this fateful evening. We laughed at the rollercoaster of plan changes we’d made in the past few weeks as the pandemic unfolded. Even just days before it looked impossible! Yet here we were, climbing upward to a rocky overlook of the Potomac River for their wedding ceremony. Two love birds, their officiant-friend Ivan, and myself. RaeAnne & Kwame changed into their wedding attire on the side of the mountain, held hands, walked across the rocky aisle to the overlook, and everything changed. It felt different. A really good different. Although they’ve been together for so long, the vows they made to God & to each other filled the air with warmth & emotion. Tears were even rolling down my cheeks! Every piece of the day was perfection – from RaeAnne’s dried floral bouquet to their danish dessert picnic celebration soaked in the warm glow of the setting sun. RaeAnne & Kwame, I’m thrilled for you guys that you’re officially MARRIED! What a fantastic adventure to kick off your marriage! :)
